Terms of Service
Effective date: February 24, 2026
By using the AlertCamp application or the alert.camp website, you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Service Description
AlertCamp is a campsite availability alert service covering provincial and national parks across Canada. The service monitors cancellations and sends you notifications when a site matching your criteria becomes available.
AlertCamp is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any supported park system or government entity. We are an independent service. Park and site names are used for informational purposes only.
2. User Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to use AlertCamp.
- An account is required to use the service. Authentication is managed by Firebase (Google).
- You are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity associated with your account.
- Only one account per person is allowed.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
- AlertCamp offers a free plan (Essai) and paid monthly plans.
- Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store and processed by RevenueCat.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and may be changed with notice.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Refunds are subject to Apple's or Google's policies, depending on the platform.
Available Plans
- Essai (free) — 1 alert, 10-15 min scans
- Regular — 5 alerts, 5-8 min scans, email
- Pro — 15 alerts, 1-3 min scans, email + SMS
4. Free Plan (Essai)
The Essai plan is free and permanent. It is limited to 1 alert. No credit card is required. We reserve the right to modify the free plan limits.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for resale or redistribution of availability data
- Use bots, scripts, automated tools, or any other means to access the service or extract its data
- Create multiple accounts to bypass plan limits. Only one account per person is allowed.
- Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or overload our infrastructure
- Harass, intimidate, or impersonate another person
- Send unsolicited content (spam) through the service
- Interfere with other users' use of the service
- Use the service for any illegal purposes
6. Intellectual Property
The AlertCamp application, its source code, design, and content are protected by copyright laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the service without written authorization.
7. Disclaimer of Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED BY ALERTCAMP ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
ALERTCAMP MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE COMPLETENESS, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, QUALITY, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICE. ALERTCAMP DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVERS ARE FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
ALERTCAMP HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
The foregoing does not affect any warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Additionally:
- AlertCamp does not guarantee that you will be able to book a site. Sites may be booked by other users before you act.
- Availability data comes from the park operators' websites. These operators may change their systems at any time, which could affect the service.
- Scan and notification delays may vary depending on your plan and network conditions.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE TO HOLD ALERTCAMP, ITS CREATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS HARMLESS FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Inability to book a campsite
- Service interruptions
- Errors or inaccuracies in availability data
- Missed or delayed notifications
Our maximum total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the service in the past 12 months.
AlertCamp relies on access to publicly available data from park operator websites. If any of these operators modifies its system, blocks access, or otherwise makes this data unavailable, the service may be reduced or discontinued without notice. In such event, no refund, credit, or compensation shall be owed. This is an inherent risk that you accept by using the service.
9. Service Modification
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify AlertCamp, its creators, and its suppliers against any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.
11. Force Majeure
AlertCamp shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing the service resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, Internet infrastructure outages, government actions, or any other unforeseeable situation.
12. Termination
- You may request account deletion at any time by emailing support@alert.camp.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
- Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our privacy policy.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the judicial district of Montreal, Quebec.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement — These terms, together with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AlertCamp regarding the use of the service.
- Severability — If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver — Failure to exercise any right provided under these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
15. Changes
We reserve the right to modify these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or via in-app notification. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
